Texas Abortion Clinics Can Reopen as Court Blocks Limits

Updated on

A divided U.S. Supreme Court ordered Texas to stop enforcing some of its new restrictions on abortion clinics, in a move that may let 13 facilities reopen while raising questions about similar rules in other states.

The provisions, enacted in 2013, require that clinics meet stricter building codes and that doctors have local hospital-admitting privileges. A group of doctors and clinic operators asked the high court to block the provisions while the case is on appeal.
