Air France-KLM Group’s largest pilots union called off a strike that grounded about half the airline’s flights over the weekend, as talks continued about the implications for workers of the company’s move to expand its discount unit.

Flights will return to normal progressively starting Sept. 30, the airline said today. While the largest pilots’ union, the SNPL, called off the strike, it has yet to agree to the airline’s proposal for how the expansion of low-cost unit Transavia will affect workers, the Paris-based company said yesterday. SPAF, a smaller pilots’ union, will continue to strike until it can discuss job-security proposals with management, it said an e-mailed statement.
