Swift Rises Most in 20 Months on Wage Boost, Profit View

Swift Transportation Co. rose the most in more than 1 1/2 years after the trucking company reiterated third-quarter earnings targets and said recent wage increases had a positive impact on operating results.

The stock rose 9.6 percent to $20.98 at the close in New York, its biggest gain since January 2013. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 1.6 percent.
