Amtrak is seeking to restore full service between Washington and Philadelphia on the Northeast rail corridor before rush hour begins tomorrow morning.

Crews opened a single track earlier today on a 15-mile (24-kilometer) stretch near Aberdeen, Maryland, where downed power lines had halted all passenger trains for more than 11 hours. Both tracks will shut late tonight to complete work on returning the line to normal operations, said Craig Schulz, a spokesman.
