Thomas Lee Starts Research Boutique After JPMorgan

Thomas Lee, the former JPMorgan Chase & Co. chief equity strategist who spent 24 years at some of Wall Street’s biggest firms, has started a seven-person research boutique.
Lee, 45, left New York-based JPMorgan in March to start Fundstrat Global Advisors with John Bai, former head of Asia and U.S. equity sales at Mizuho Securities, according to a statement today from the new company. Lee, who started at Kidder Peabody & Co. in 1993 and worked at Salomon Smith Barney before joining JPMorgan in 1999, will lead a research team of four, while Bai oversees sales.
