Arizona must recognize the marriage of a gay couple married in California, a federal judge said in the latest ruling striking down a state law prohibiting same-sex unions.

U.S. District Judge John Sedwick in Phoenix, citing rulings in the past year overturning state bans on same-sex marriage, ordered Arizona to issue a death certificate listing the deceased man as married and Fred McQuire as his surviving spouse.
