Brazil GDP Probably Shrank Most in 5 Years as Vote Nears

Brazil’s economy probably contracted in the second quarter by the most since the global financial crisis as policy makers struggle to revive growth before October’s presidential election.
Gross domestic product shrank by 0.4 percent in the April-June period, following 0.2 percent growth during the first quarter, according to the median forecast from 39 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. The statistics institute is scheduled to release its GDP report at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
