A ban has been lifted on drinking water in Toledo, Ohio, that was contaminated with an algae toxin, Mayor D. Michael Collins said in a televised news conference.
Tests show toxins have returned to acceptable levels after hundreds of thousands of residents in and around the city were told Aug. 2 not to drink tap water suspected to have been polluted by a Lake Erie algae bloom.
