GLG Hires Edwards From Stratton Street for Japan Equities

Man Group Plc’s GLG Partners hired Adrian Edwards as a portfolio manager in its Japanese equities team from Stratton Street Capital LLP.

Edwards will help manage GLG’s 1.29 billion-pound ($2.21 billion) Japan CoreAlpha fund, domiciled in the U.K., and its Dublin-based Japan CoreAlpha Equity fund, with $4.35 billion in assets under management, the firm said in a statement today.

Edwards will report to Stephen Harker, GLG’s head of Japanese equities, and work with senior money managers Jeffrey Atherton and Neil Edwards in overseeing the two funds.

GLG is expanding the team “to reflect the substantial inflows into the portfolios,” Harker said in the statement.

Man Group, based in London, is the world’s largest publicly traded hedge-fund manager.
