Obama-Perry Texas Meeting Fraught Amid Flood of Migrant Children

As a measure of how politically fraught President Barack Obama’s Texas trip is today, Republican Governor Rick Perry reluctantly agreed to greet the arrival of the nation’s chief executive.
Perry welcomed the president when he landed in Texas and was joining him for a meeting with local civic and religious leaders about the influx of tens of thousands of migrant children along the southern U.S. border. Obama planned a statement afterward, before heading to fundraisers for Democratic congressional campaigns.
