Angelina Jolie Becomes a Dame, Day-Lewis a Sir in Queen’s Honors

Actress Angelina Jolie was made an honorary dame and actor Daniel Day-Lewis given a knighthood in U.K. honors announced late yesterday to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday.

Charlie Bean, the outgoing deputy governor of the Bank of England, also becomes a knight and former bank policy maker Kate Barker a dame in a list of 1,149 people awarded honors for service to the U.K. Standard Life Plc Chairman Gerry Grimstone also receives a knighthood.
