GM Texas Customers to Hold Off Suing for Economic Losses

General Motors Co. customers in Texas who sued over the lost value of recalled vehicles agreed to put a lawsuit seeking billions of dollars on hold while a bankruptcy judge decides whether their claims are valid.

GM is asking U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Gerber, who handled its 2009 reorganization, to rule that the major claims in at least 79 lawsuits over economic losses tied to faulty ignition switches are barred by his earlier rulings freeing the company from damages and other liabilities.
