Bafin Says Traders Sought to Manipulate Currency Markets

Germany’s investigation into currency markets has turned up instances where traders clearly sought to manipulate prices, the country’s regulator said.

“We’ve made significant progress and know more than we did a few months ago,” Raimund Roeseler, head of banking supervision at BaFin, told reporters in Frankfurt today. “What we know is not reassuring. There were clearly attempts to manipulate prices.”
