Miliband Says Labour Government Would Raise Minimum Wage

U.K. opposition Labour leader Ed Miliband pledged to raise the minimum wage over the next parliament if his party enters government by linking it to average earnings.

“Britain is still one of the lowest paid countries among the world’s advanced economies,” he will say in a speech today, according to remarks released by his office. “A Labour government will establish a clear link between the level of the minimum wage and the scale of wages paid to other workers in our economy.”
