Russian inflation accelerated to the fastest since last May, holding above the central bank’s target for a 20th month as the ruble’s plunge fueled price growth.
The consumer-price index rose 7.3 percent in April from a year earlier after a 6.9 percent advance in March, the Federal Statistics Service in Moscow said today in an e-mailed statement. That matched the median estimate of 23 economists in a Bloomberg survey. Prices climbed 0.9 percent in the month, in line with the median forecast in another poll.
