WPP First-Quarter Sales Rise 1.5% on Stronger U.K. Business

WPP Plc, the world’s largest advertising company, said first-quarter revenue rose 1.5 percent, driven by the U.K. and business from brands including Vodafone, Marks & Spencer and Volvo.
Sales for the period were 2.57 billion pounds ($4.32 billion), the London-based company said today. That beat the 2.51 billion-pound average estimate of analysts in a Bloomberg survey. Like-for-like revenue rose 7 percent.
