S&P Affirms French Ratings on Improved Deficit Outlook

France’s credit rating was affirmed by Standard & Poor’s, which said President Francois Hollande was shifting toward improving competitiveness.
The nation’s long- and short-term sovereign foreign and local currency credit ratings stayed at AA/A-1+, S&P said in a statement today. France lost the top rating at S&P in January 2012. The outlook is stable, according to the ratings company.
