S. Sudjojono $7.5 Million Painting Sets Artist’s Auction Record

Indonesian artist S. Sudjojono’s oil painting titled “Our Soldiers Led Under Prince Diponegoro” sold for HK$58.4 million ($7.5 million), including fees, at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong today, setting an auction record for the artist.
The oil on canvas was estimated to sell for more than HK$20 million. The previous auction record for Sudjojono was HK$10.7 million, according to Artnet.
