Canada Employment Rebounded in March on Public Sector

Canadian employment rebounded in March, climbing almost twice as fast as economists forecast, led by government workers.

Employment rose by 42,900Bloomberg Terminal, the most in seven months, following a decline of 7,000 in February. The jobless rate fell to 6.9 percent from 7.0 percent, Statistics Canada said today in Ottawa. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg News projected a 22,500 job increase and a jobless rate unchanged at 7 percent, according to median forecasts.
