A Brazilian athlete paralyzed from the neck down while training for last month’s Sochi Olympics is getting English lessons through the organizers of the 2016 Rio Olympics to help her communicate with U.S. doctors taking care of her.

Lais da Silva Souza, 25, started classes today in the hope of communicating better with her doctors and nurses in Miami.
