Polar Air to Lock on Eastern U.S. at Least to Mid-March

The eastern U.S. will be locked into a pattern of cold air, boosting energy use, through the first half of March, forecasters say.

Frigid weather will dominate from the Midwest to the Northeast as well as eastern Canada for at least the next two weeks and possibly beyond, said Matt Rogers, president of Commodity Weather Group LLC in Bethesda, Maryland.
