Carney Flags BOE Guidance Review as He Commits to Low Rates

Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said policy makers will review forward guidance within weeks as he pledged to maintain exceptionally loose policy for some time to help the economic recovery.

Carney is defending his flagship policy after unemployment fell faster than forecast toward the level that will prompt a review of the BOE’s record-low interest rate. In a speech in Davos, Switzerland, he said the Monetary Policy Committee will consider a “range of options” for guidance.
