Kroma Plans Brazil Solar-Panel Factory to Get Cheap State Loans

Kroma Comercializadora de Energia Ltda., a Brazilian energy trader, may build a photovoltaic-panel factory to help get government loans for its 150 million-real ($62.5 million) solar-energy project.
The factory, proposed for the northeastern state of Pernambuco, may have capacity to produce 30 megawatts of panels a year, Rodrigo Mello, chief executive officer for Jaboatao dos Guararapes, Brazil-based Kroma Energia said today in a telephone interview.
