Hong Kong’s Air Quality Health Index recorded “very high” health risk at all three roadside-monitoring stations, according to data from the Environmental Protection Department.
The index was 8 on a scale of 1 to 10+ in Central, Causeway Bay and Mong Kok as of 9 a.m. local time. A reading of 8 or above triggers a government advice for people with heart or respiratory illnesses to reduce time of stay outdoors, especially in areas with heavy traffic.
