Pimco’s El-Erian Sees Faster Global Economic Growth in 2014

World economic growth will pick up next year, paced by improvements in the U.S. and the euro area, Mohamed El-Erian, chief executive officer of Pacific Investment Management Co., said in an interview.

The Newport Beach, California-based asset manager said the the world economy is likely to expand 2.5 percent to 3 percent in 2014, up from 2.3 percent this year. U.S. growth will accelerate to 2.25 percent to 2.75 percent from 1.8 percent.
