Income Inequality Study: Upper Middle Class Stagnates

Globally, the rich get richer, the poor get richer, and the upper middle class doesn’t

Incomes worldwide have risen significantly over the last 20 years. The gains, however, have been unequally distributed, according to a forthcoming World Bank research paper by economists Branko Milanović and Christoph Lakner. While the world’s highest and lowest earners made significant strides in pay, the upper middle class watched its income stagnate.
