Greek Second-Quarter GDP Contracted Less Than Initial Estimate

Greece’s economy contracted the least in three years in the second quarter, beating an initial estimate on an improved performance in trade and tourism.

Gross domestic product fell a revised 3.8 percent from a year earlier, compared with a 5.6 percent drop in the first quarter, according to an e-mailed statementBloomberg Terminal from the Athens-based Hellenic Statistical Authority. The drop, which is the 20th successive quarter of contraction, is less than an Aug. 12 initial estimate of 4.6 percent.
