Israel’s highest court upheld the government’s decision to release 26 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, delivering the concession the Palestinians sought to get peace talks moving.

Relatives of people killed by the prisoners had asked the court to block the release and judges turned them down, according to the ruling. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa cited a Palestinian cabinet minister as saying the prisoners would be freed late tonight.
