Ammonia Gas Explosion Kills Five at Chemical Factory

An explosion of ammonia gas killed at least five workers at Ukrainian chemical maker PAT Concern Stirol, the prosecutor general’s office said.

The leak occurred at 2 p.m. today during maintenance in Horlivka, eastern Ukraine, where the plant is based, according to a statement released on the the website of the regional prosecutors office, which opened a criminal probe.
