Steel reinforcement-bar futures in Shanghai dropped to cap the first weekly loss in eight on concern that a rally this month may boost output of the building material in China, the biggest consumer.

Rebar for January delivery on the Shanghai Futures Exchange lost 0.4 percent to close at 3,669 yuan ($598) a metric ton, extending this week’s loss to 0.6 percent for the first weekly drop since May. Futures trimmed this month’s gain to 3.8 percent.
