“During the hot summer months, I like to unwind with a tequila cocktail. I make a great Guava Sin with Casamigos Reposado. Adding fresh guava nectar and lime makes for a refreshing drink that’s a little more fun than a traditional margarita.”
Guava Sin
2 oz. Casamigos Reposado
1 oz. triple sec
1 oz. guava puree
1 oz. fresh sour mix

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice, shake, and strain into a highball glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.

“My friend Brandon Peck, a bartender at the Roosevelt in Richmond, introduced me to this bourbon lemonade a few years ago. I’m based in the South, and the summers couldn’t be hotter. The lemonade helps you withstand the heat, while the bourbon helps you forget it.”
Bourbon Lemonade
1½ oz. Bulleit Bourbon Whiskey
2 oz. brown sugar

Serve over crushed ice and top with soda water for a little fizz. Garnish with basil.

“A Pimm’s Cup. My at-home modification is the addition of fresh strawberries, oranges, and cherries, with extra fresh mint. It’s light, refreshing, and fruity without veering to the extreme of mai tais and piña coladas. It’s the perfect brunch drink in lieu of mimosas.”
Pimm’s Cup
1 cup ice cubes
2 oz. Pimm’s No. 1
3 oz. ginger beer
1 cucumber slice
1 sprig fresh mint

Fill glass with ice. Add Pimm’s No. 1 and top with ginger beer. Garnish with cucumber and a mint sprig.
Dale Talde
Chef and co-owner of Brooklyn’s Talde, Pork Slope, Thistle Hill Tavern
“I love a margarita with Sauza Blanco Tequila. It quenches your thirst, is super easy to make at home, and is always reliable. At Talde, we always have a seasonal margarita on the menu. For the summer it’s a watermelon margarita made with fresh watermelon puree.”
Watermelon Margarita
2 oz. tequila
6 oz. pureed watermelon
1 oz. fresh lime juice
½ oz. agave nectar

Pour all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and mix well. Strain into a glass. Salted edges optional.

“The Strawberry Smash is definitely our favorite cocktail, with the best kind of gin—Hendrick’s. It’s one to conjure up at home, when and if the sun comes out in London. Strawberries are traditional at Wimbledon, so what better way to celebrate Andy Murray’s brilliant win!”
Strawberry Smash
1½ oz. Hendrick’s Gin
1½ strawberries, sliced
¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup
7 fresh mint leaves

Muddle ingredients well, breaking up the strawberries. Add ice; shake ingredients with vigor. Strain over fresh ice into a double rocks glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

“A La Paloma. It has tequila, ice, grapefruit soda, and some lime. One of my best friends ordered it at a restaurant once, and I had a sip and was amazed at how good it was. I love sitting outside and drinking it. It’s light but has the right amount of kick.”
La Paloma
1½ oz. tequila
Juice of half a lime
Grapefruit-flavored soda, preferably Squirt

Fill glass with ice. Add tequila, soda, and lime. Stir well.
