Romania’s Supreme Defense Council approved today a plan to buy 12 used F-16 fighter jets from Portugal, Mediafax reported.

The eastern European country is seeking to pay $600 million over five years for the aircraft, the Bucharest-based news service said, citing Defense Minister Corneliu Dobritoiu. The jets will be delivered from 2016, Mediafax said.
