Global Temperatures in August Above Average for 330th Month

August 2012 was the 330th month in a row that global temperatures were above the 20th century average, the U.S. National Climatic Data Center said.
Temperatures were above the average for the month in northeastern North America, central and southern Europe and east-central Asia, the agency said today in a seasonal report. Sea ice in the Arctic dropped to the lowest August level on record.
