Gold extended gains as two central bank officials said European Central Bank President Mario Draghi will hold talksBloomberg Terminal with Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann in the coming days in an effort to overcome the biggest stumbling block to measures including bond purchases.

Gold futures for December delivery climbed 0.7 percent to $1,630.50 an ounce at 1:36 p.m. on the Comex in New York.
