Oil fell as much as 0.8 percent in New York after rising the most in three years June 29.

Futures for August delivery slid as much as 68 cents to $84.28 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange and were at $84.37 at 10:24 a.m. in Sydney.
