DEME’s Geosea Awarded 230 Million-Euro Contracts for Wind Farm

Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV said its Geosea NV unit was awarded a contract to build the foundations of Northwind NV’s 216-megawatt offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.

Geosea and DEME unit Tideway BV will also lay the cables connecting the 73 turbines to be supplied by Vestas Wind Systems A/S and assist with the installation, the dredging firm that is co-owned by Ackermans & van Haaren NV and Cie. d’Entreprises CFE SA said today in an e-mailed statementBloomberg Terminal. The Northwind contracts are valued at more than 230 million euros ($286 million) and construction is scheduled next year, Zwijndrecht, Belgium-based DEME said.
