Mobile TeleSystems Buys Tascom WiFi Network for $38.3 Million

OAO Mobile TeleSystems, Russia’s largest mobile-phone operator, acquired ZAO Tascom, a Moscow WiFi network, for $38.3 million through a subsidiary, Moscow City Telephone Network, also known as MGTS, according to an e-mailed company statement.
An additional payment of $6.9 million has been delayed for 12 months, MTS said. MGTS accepted $9.7 million in Tascom’s debt, according to the statement.
