‘Lorax’ Tops Weekend Box Office With $70.7 Million in Sales

“Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax,” based on the popular children’s book, was the top weekend film in the U.S. and Canada, taking in $70.7 million for Comcast Corp.’s Universal Pictures in the biggest opening weekend this year.
The teen comedy “Project X,” from Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros., had sales of $20.8 million in its debut, researcher Hollywood.com Box-Office said yesterday in an e-mailed statement.
