Russia’s 2017 Power Demand to Be 18% Up on 2010, Vedomosti Says

Russia’s electricity consumption may reach 1.184 trillion kilowatts per hour by 2017, 18 percent higher than in 2010, according to an Energy Ministry forecast, Vedomosti reported today.

The country is reckoned to need 41.1 gigawatts of new capacity, the newspaper said.
