Saudi Arabian police last night arrested nine citizens allegedly behind shooting incidents earlier this month in the Shiite area of Qatif, the official Saudi Press Agency reported.

Saudi police arrested the men after raiding “a hideout in Qatif Province,” SPA said, citing an unidentified spokesman for the Ministry of Interior. Three policemen were injured on Jan. 14 and 18 when gunmen opened fire on a police patrol in the oil-rich area, the Riyadh-based news service said.
