Varian Medical Jumps as Siemens Exits Radiation Therapy

Varian Medical Systems Inc., the maker of tools to treat cancer with radiotherapy, climbed the most in more than two years after an analyst said Siemens AG planned to reduce its business in radiation therapy.

Varian gained 6.2 percent to $60.60 at the close of trading in New York, the biggest increase since April 2009. The shares of the Palo Alto, California-based company are down 13 percent this year.
