Japan Atomic Says Water Leaked at Tokai Dai-Ni Nuclear Plant

Japan Atomic Power Co. said water contaminated with radiation leaked at its Tokai Dai-Ni nuclear station, which is being repaired after damage in the March earthquake and tsunami. There was no radiation leaked to the environment.

The breach in a device connected to the reactor pressure vessel was plugged at 1:20 p.m. today, spokesman Mitsuru Marutani said by phone. An earlier estimate that 12,000 liters (3,166 gallons) of water leaked is being checked after an error was found, he said.
