Hellas Gold Greek Projects to Create 1,800 Jobs, Minister Says

Planned mining projects in Greece by Hellas Gold SA, the Greek unit of European Goldfields Ltd., will create 1,800 jobs, Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister George Papaconstantinou said.

The projects, at mines in the Halkidiki region of northern Greece, are worth a total investment of around 1 billion euros ($1.4 billion) and will generate annual revenue of around 125 million euros for the state, Papaconstantinou told lawmakers in the Greek parliament in Athens today.
