Western Wind Starts Operating Wind, Solar Hybrid Plant

Western Wind Energy Corp. started operating a 10.5-megawatt wind and solar hydrid project at Kingman, Arizona, the company said in a statement.
The Kingman I project uses five sets of 2-megawatt turbines from Gamesa Corp. Tecnologica SA and 500 kilowatts of solar panels on a single axis tracking system, the company said.
