Roger Federer beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to set up a semifinal meeting with Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open, which pushed both singles finals back a day because of rain delays.
After two days of washouts at the National Tennis Center in New York, Federer waited out a 93-minute first-set interruption before finishing off a 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 win over Tsonga, the 11th seed from France.
