SAIC-Led Team Protests U.S. Army Combat Vehicle Contracts

A Science Applications International Corp.-led team that includes Boeing Co. today filed a protest of the U.S. Army’s award of $890 million in contracts for initial development of its new ground combat vehicle, according to a company spokeswoman.

The SAIC team on Aug. 18 lost to teams led by BAE Systems Plc and General Dynamics Corp. The Army initially budgeted for as many as three teams to develop the new vehicle. The service wants to buy as many as 1,874 vehicles to replace its fleet of Bradley Infantry Fighting vehicles.
