What’s the hottest vacation spot for members of Congress? Oh, Jerusalem

During the August recess, 81 members of Congress—nearly a fifth of the House of Representatives—will head to the Holy Land, courtesy of the American Israel Education Foundation, a charity affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Israel has become a must-see for ambitious American politicians. Among this summer’s pilgrims are top House leaders: Republicans Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy and Democrat Steny Hoyer. They’ll be doing all the touristy things—visiting the Western Wall, eating falafel, climbing Masada, and sitting down with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
