Japan to Begin Nuclear Compensation in October-January

Japan’s government plans to start making compensation payments to those affected by the Fukushima nuclear disaster between October and January, a statement said. Guidelines on interim payments will be issued by July, the country’s nuclear disaster taskforce said in a statement today.
The government will build 15,200 temporary housing units by early August for those forced to evacuate areas around the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear station, according to the statement.
