Crude Oil Volatility Declines as Futures Increase Less Than 1%

Oil options volatility fell as the underlying futures advanced after U.S. equities gained and the dollar retreated versus the euro, making commodities more attractive to investors.

Implied volatility for at-the-money options expiring in July, a measure of expected price swings in futures and a gauge of options prices, was 38.4 percent as of 3:32 p.m. in New York, down from 39.6 percent yesterday.
