Medicaid Projections: All Over the Map

The Congressional Budget Office has pegged the cost of adding 16 million uninsured Americans to Medicaid's rolls at $60 billion through 2021. A survey of state projections by Bloomberg Government puts the figure at closer to $70 billion. The survey notes that states' own projections vary widely—not surprising, considering the controversy around health reform. Here, the top 10 states ranked by per capita cost increase.
